Reinstalling Drakan on Windows 7 Post by Peregrynn » Fri Mar 31, am Hi, my question is about the Drakan game on Windows 7, I had the full game with some player made levels installed on this PC, and I uninstalled to try and get the new patch working. Now it will not reinstall on this PC; I'd appreciate help in fixing this! I keep getting a message that the installation file won't run on this 64 bit system, and that I should contact the software manufacturer for suggestions.

I tried the new AiO patch, and the Drakan 10th anniversary patch, but to no avail Any help would be appreciated; I really like the game and would love to get it going again. Thank you, Peregrynn. Re: Reinstalling Drakan on Windows 7 Post by Arokhs Twin » Sat Apr 01, am Hmm, the game should install on 64 bit systems - if it has installed on that system before it could be a number of things.

You could try right clicking on the installation file and selecting run in compatibility mode for Windows 98 if that does not work try the others and try disabling antivirus whilst the game is being installed. Malware bytes is a free tool which is good for finding things that others miss. Note that once you do get it to install the game will not run until patched with the patch and you may have to enable dev mode.

Failing that Axe had a copy of the game as a download that can be simply extracted and registry keys installed via a batch file. Unfortunately the link to it no longer works. Axe - have you got an updated link? By fire and by blood I join with thee in the Order of the Flame!

My CD broke during the move and this archive is awesome! I'm amazed how many awesome games there are in here especially from when I was young! This is an awesome site! Yoshi 1 point. Everyone who has troubles running a game after installation: the "no CD" error went away for me after installing the official patch, which is available here.

Also "iso" here is a weird "mds" file, which I was not able to mount in any program. Fortunately MagicIso Magic Disk could open it, so I saved as regular "iso" file and then was able to mount it and install the game. Robs 0 point. I install the game with no peoblem, it opens but when I start new game get an error in dragon.

Mike 1 point. This was my favourite game as a child - and still is now when i look back on it. Tru -2 points. I played a game called Drakan back in 99 or but couldn't do much or anything in the game. It just seemed like endless terrain and little else. But I don't think it was the same game because in my version there was a group or characters that followed along. But with no apparent goal. Space Jump 4 points. Ang9lo 2 points. Pyb 2 points. One of my favorite childhood game. I mean, when a giant ogre is throwing at you the torso of a dead ennemi from so far you can berrely see him, when you can explore the entire map riding your dragon and killing everyone, when you can dismember ennemis with starting sword, how a game could be cooler than that?

Start a new game and select 'ruined village' from the list of levels to start the game. This process bypasses the intro cut scene that causes the crash. Also you need the patch installed.
